The AI Impact Summit 2026 hosted in India marked an important moment in global artificial intelligence cooperation. The event followed the successful AI Action Summit 2025 held in Paris, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
By hosting the next major AI summit, India continued the global conversation on responsible innovation, ethical AI, and international collaboration.
Inaugrated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the summit’s theme “Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay” — welfare for all — underscored India’s vision of AI for inclusive growth, social good, and democratic access. Leaders including UN Secretary-General António Guterres and French President Emmanuel Macron participated, alongside CEOs from leading tech companies.

A highlight was the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration, endorsed by nearly 90 countries, advocating responsible, transparent, and equitable AI development. The summit also featured investment pledges in AI infrastructure exceeding $200 billion, reflecting strong confidence in India’s role as an emerging hub for AI innovation.
🌍 Building on the Paris Momentum
The Paris summit laid the foundation for stronger cooperation between France and India in artificial intelligence. The AI Impact Summit 2026 built on this momentum, bringing together policymakers, global tech leaders, researchers, startup founders, and academic institutions.
Discussions focused on AI in education, healthcare, digital governance, and startup innovation — with a strong emphasis on ethical and safe AI development.
🤝 The Macron–Modi Meeting

During the summit, President Macron and Prime Minister Modi held high-level bilateral talks to deepen the India–France partnership.
Key outcomes included:
Expansion of joint AI research programs
Plans for AI innovation hubs, including collaboration in AI for health
Increased academic exchange and a target to host 30,000 Indian students in France annually by 2030
